Recovered Nosler AB 308 doesn’t look right...
Sorry for the darkish image. But this is a 170lb MS cull 5 point my son killed with a 150 bt outta a Tikka 308 win. i don't understand why tikka produces the 6.5cm with a 24.5" barrel personally. the 260 rem and 7mm-08 versions of the same rifle both have 22.5" barrel. i'm with you on this one in that i don't like 24" barrel on anything other than a magnum.22.5" is a very good compromise on standard velo... -

What rite to get.
i'd roll with a 7mm-08 rem and 120 bt's for all included game. those 7mm 120 bt's will punch thru even elk i'm told due to the thick jacket material and the chambering would cut down on the recoil. Big Ed -

What's your favorite 6.5 ammo?
well, i don't own a cm but have the ballistic twin and more manly and sophisticated 260 rem and shoot 120 ballistic tip and 130 accubond without issues. and with my really studious old man the 6.5x55 swede likes 140 accubonds no man buns required for those 2 chamberings. Big Ed- Big Ed

out of those 2 choices i'd go loopy personally but i'd step up to a vx5hd. you wanting to go with a 1" or 30mm tube? and yes i'd stay at at least a 50mm objective. i've never seen where it hindered me in the least with a 50mm vs a 40mm. Big Ed -

if you wanna stay with a bt try the 168 grain 30 cal. supposed to have a thicker jacket that should hold the core in better and penetrate deeper. or just go with a 165 true accubond. i really like bt's but i'm strickly a whitetail deer hunter. not many elk left here in MS ha! good luck on your...- Big Ed

ok just a couple thoughts. are you resting the actual barrel on whatever your front rest is? this will throw shots. also, is the front rest secure and tight and not wiggly? this will also make a normally accurate rifle shoot a pattern and not a good group. Big Ed -
