Congrats from a Coastal South Carolinian! Leaving tomorrow for Wyoming-first western hunt -definitely enjoy your videos from out west as well as at home.
That came out great! I have my grandfathers LCS that he bought from my great grandfather because “it didn’t shoot right”. Somehow he managed to kill plenty of deer, quail and turkeys with it in South GA. I am hoping to get it to a smith here in SC soon to have it spiffed up. I don’t trust myself...
I have a Howa 1500 6.5 C as well but a heavy barrel. It shoots ELDX
extremely well but I started having a hard time finding it local plus it’s pricy for range fun so picked up a box of American Whitetail for pigs and deer, as it’s $10 less a box. I’d say it went from easily under MOA with ELDX...
Yeah she was fat! Won’t do that again...understand...I just like the round and mostly the mini action. I’d look hard at a Ruger Predator in 6 Creedmoor. Pretty versatile. Of course so is .243.
I’ll play devils advocate. I have a Howa Mini Action Youth with a 20” #1 barrel and it’s a great little rifle. I shoot the Hornady Black 123gr ammo as well as the Federal TNT 90 grain. I bought it in case one my daughters wanted to hunt and so far they haven’t so made it my “truck” gun. Pleasant...
I think I need to do a preliminary focused Antelope hunt and scout around for other opportunities first go round. I get distracted easy so need to stay focused!
Thanks for posting this as as I was thinking about posting a question about a antelope or deer hunt with some birds and fishing mixed in. Do you need a dog to hunt grouse or possible to jump shoot and more important find them? I’ll look up the regs as well. Thanks again.
I have a Viper HS 4-16x50 on a Howa 6.5 Creedmoor Heavy Barrel. Mounted in American Rifle Company Low rings. They are flat out awesome. Super strong and easy to mount. Vortex is pretty adamant about the torque specs one should use to for mounting their scopes even if not in Vortex rings, However...
First post but I’ll chime in..Can’t speak to the BDC reticle... I put a Burris Fullfield 3-9x40 #4 illuminated reticle on a Howa Mini 6.5 Grendel youth model. It’s a great scope for the price point and holds zero well as this became my “truck gun”. I agree with negatives mentioned already and...
