Long ways out but not really
in unit 100, most all roads should be passable, save a large storm. There are enough guys chekcing some oil rigs along that triterritory road that they get travelled. Roads in 100 turn to crap when they are wet and just sticky gumbo. So beware of fresh rains or thaws more than anything... -
Worst Hotel you’ve ever stayed at ..
Funny how some of the same "resorts" keep popping up. I will second the Nullaviq Inn in Kotzebue, along with the Casper Motel 6. And glad we made the choice to avoid teh Warbonnet Inn in Browning and just keep on driving.- mmazour

mamas wrong name on passport app...
I just renewed my passport and got passports for my 13yo and 15yo it took over 4 months to receive!!! Plan ahead if you need or pay for the "special draw" and go the expedited route. Ridiculous that it takes that long.- mmazour

2023 spring turkey!
Had birds a bit skittish this year and was trying to get them right for my son. This bird skirted us 3 separate times at just over 50 yards after coming hard gobbling the whole way for an hour...when he tried it yet again that morning, I was furstrated and as he skirted, I took a longer shot...- mmazour

Gear list of mountain lion hunt??
Don't gear up too heavy - on the move in deep snow - you don't need/want any extra gear weghing you down. I am a gear hound and learned to shed a lot of it! To quote one houndsman - just take enough that you won't die if left out there all night.- mmazour

vortex or leupold cheap binos?
I have purchased the Vortex Diamondback 10x42s for the exact same purpose - landowner gift. And I messed with them for a bit and was pretty impressed. Were they as same as Swaro Els...No...but they were definitely decent for wildlife watching. $179 seem slike a great price...thought they were... -

May have been asked before, but couldn't find it. In certain areas, I get the satellite view when zoomed out, but when I zoom in closer, it swictches to a BLM-style map, and I lose the terrain. I fairly recently upgraded to the full nationwide membership, and i THINK I have the layers right...- mmazour

Drew Wyoming Area 100
Most all elk in 100 are resident...they live in the red desert. And except for a few over by Green River, those pivots by Farson/Eden are the only irrigated agriculture in the unit. So the lopers and elk flock to them and they have created this hunt to provide some pressure relief on that area. -

Just to add on - WY has a lot of cats. And if you are willing to go "on-call" when the conditions are good and not booking a 6-day deal guessing on the weather, many guys will go cheaper (like $2k cheaper or so) than the prices listed above. The houndsmen usually have enough other...- mmazour

Duck Bacon
I've been meaning to try this for awhile and glad I did with some plump mallards I shot over New Years. I followed the DU recipe pretty much, but added some maple syrup and glazed with maple syrup while smoking. You are missing out if you don't try this at some point. Duck Bacon (ducks.org)- mmazour

They all work. I packed a crossbow through snowy trees for several days and that sucked! Agree that the chase is where it is at. I ended up killin with handgun since just wasn't an ethical bow shot. You should be smelling it by now, hide will keep it contained a bit. But time is a ticking. And maggots be starting. All in your tolerance for "how much smell" On one of my last elk, a guy in town was doing them decent and fairly cheap, so I took it to his house 3-4 days after I killed...- mmazour
