The build up and excitement of the first day of season is always tremendous. I had a question about what people do when they are not able to get out for opening day? Got my first Buck up in D5 (CA). I've only been deer hunting for a few years, spent the last 2 seasons learning as much as I could and preparing for an opportunity. CA, D5 public land success
What a day, Finally a success story. After 2 years of very nice armed hikes in D5, it all came together on opening day. Met with a buddy (Steven) at 4am to make the hike into the woods. Colorado 1st Season
Same here...I've got an either sex tag for GMU 6,16,17,161,171 and although it's a little overwhelming to eScout that much land, it looks like there's a lot of really fantastic country to explore out there. What zone are you hunting?- TheChiro22

Really appreciate the feedback and I've been hearing that from a few folks...wondering if calling is still effective in that transitional phase, or if late rut calling will actually cause the elk to quiet down.
