Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

Thanks, I know, I got the answers. I am on AR15.com as well. Just asked here, as it seemed more like a hunting focussed forum, that is all. I got the Swaro Z6i by the way. The Z6i 2.5-15 x56. Had an issue with the diopter wheel but fixed it and it has been awesome since then. The glass IMHO is...

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

Well by the way as an update, got the PR Elevation in 6.5 for a good deal, so bought it.

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

That is correct. Not planning on getting a competition scope with big turrets. Looking at the S&B Polar T96 which is a good hunting scope.

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

Hmmm..just at the right time. Now you have got me thinking on the viability of the X-Bolt HC. Since I am building a custom one anyways next year, maybe I should just get a Tikka stainless barrelled one in 6.5 CM for this year. No, I haven’t checked out the Bergara yet. How is their QC and...

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

Yes, I have. The T3x Tac is a bit heavier than the X-Bolt at 8.5 LBS. Plus, I think the X-Bolt HC Speed is built a bit better.

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

For the under $1200 rifle I was comparing between the Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon Speed and the Tikka T3x Stainless in 6.5 Creedmoor. Seems like the X-Bolt HC Speed is a bit better of the two. What are your opinions?

Is the Hornady ELD-X in 6.5 good ammo for hunting deer ?

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

Agreed mate! After much thought and research I decided that in a factory over the counter rifle, there are some things I like and some things don't (for the high-price you are paying I mean). So, decided, will get something under $1200 this year and build a custom one for the next year.

    6.5 Creedmoor Rifle Suggestions

Good choice OP. Enjoy the rifle in good health.

    6.5 Creedmoor Rifle Suggestions

To the credit of the posters above, the CA rifles do look cool. I handled a CA Mesa at Cabelas and it seemed nice. The trigger and feel of it all. I almost ordered the new CA Traverse but held back after reading several issues from the users regarding the bedding of the barrels and poor customer...

Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

Coming to the one we were talking about, how do the below three compare? Schmidt & Bender Swarovski Leica I guess I read somewhere Leica glass is the clearest of all. With the S&B’s being good in the dawn and dusk conditions.

Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

I understand the Leupolds have a strong fan following and the glass is very clear as well. I have a VX3i myself, very nice for the price. Was just looking at the next level optics.

I too prefer exposed turrets and first focal plane.

Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

What about the Schmidt & Benders? They seem to be pretty high quality too. People who use them swear they are better than the Swarovskis.

Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

Thanks for educating me. Edited the opening post and added a bit more technical details. By the way might be dialing with it if needed as I hunt from improvised tree stands. Usually set it to 200m and then take it from there wherever needed.

Swarovski vs Other Top Tier Optics

Looking at a ceiling of $3000, I was researching some high end scopes for hunting rifles and saw a Swarovskis in that price range. Although never personally owned a Swaro or any other high end scopes (Leica, Zeiss) I would like to explore higher quality scopes around $3000 mark. Currently, own...

The 10 Most Accurate Factory Hunting Rifles...

They seem have their understanding of the competition precision rifles and hunting all mixed up. Other than the Mauser not one of them is a dedicated hunting rifle. Neither are these the top precision rifles. Where are the Tikka T3xs (under $1k), Barret Fieldcraft, Christensen Traverse, Proof...

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

The custom rifle option is there but for next year. Don’t have time for it this year.

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

The Tikka T3x Hunter already comes with a good enough rubber butt pad. Not sure if the Limbsaver is going to add anything there.

    Upgrade from a Tikka T3x 270

That’s my experience too with my Tikka Hunter T3X In 270. The bolt smoothness and throw is like 5 times more expensive custom rifles. Also, very true to the part that it runs fine in the field. We were at an outdoor range and the Tikka ran fine non-stop. Some of the guys with their Remington 700...
