    Old Iron

Translates to me teasing Paul about his beautiful rifle and poking fun at some inane comments that popped up here before.

    Old Iron

    Looks like a Lorcin 32 and a QSZ-92 had a baby.

Checkering not nearly crisp enough, 2/10 would not add a red recoil pad. 🤢

    Garmin Chronograph?

I have a Chrony, Magnetospeed, Labradar, and a Garmin. Haven't touched the Chrony in years, kept the Magnetospeed as a back up, sold the Labradar for a massive loss, take the Garmin with me every range trip. I doubt that the new LR will be significantly better than the Garmin, LR has proven...

    Annealing question

Its best to anneal before sizing, it helps reduce the brass springing back when sized. When I've done big conversions like 6.5cm to 8.6blk, I cut the brass close to final length, then anneal and size. If I annealed before cutting it would be tough to anneal the right area.

    Case trimmer advise

I have a Lyman, I hate it with a passion, but it works. The Giraud is the gold standard, I wish I'd invested in one originally, but all the cartridges really snuck up on me. Personally, I really like the Little Crow Gunworks trimmers for the cost, especially if you're not planning on having...

Silencerco Scythe Ti vs Banish Backcountry Suppressor

Its something that you need to experience. Measuring DBs is really a fool's errand, especially on supersonic hunting cartridges. The noise of a gunshot is very high, but it is at its peak for only a brief moment. There are a couple ways to measure this, but there really is not an industry...

    Youth 22

The Ruger American rimfire can be had with the youth stock, and it comes with an insert that makes it more like a full size rifle, and they use 10/22 magazines. I've had two and they were both awesome, I gave one to my niece when she turned 8 to celebrate her getting to come hunting with us for...

    The End

I got a ham radio license for use when I was off-roading a ton, mostly for the repeaters in the Rubicon. But damn if this thread title didn’t give me PTSD for the verbal diarrhea that the old guys spew on the airwaves every day, it’s 100% cured me of wanting to get old. I pray for the cold...

    Rebarrel Opinions

I'd probably be thinking about .264 Win Mag in your situation, but I'm weird like that.

    Happy 311 day

Don’t mind me, just passing through and saving this thread with some more appropriate 311. I’ve had this shotgun in my safe for years, it allegedly belonged to my grandfather, but he told me he never owned a shotgun so who knows. Decided to look at it today on a whim, and what a coincidence...

I was bringing the magazine up more as a comparison to that total abortion that Remington tried to pass off as a similar magazine system back in the time frame you're mentioning.

I have 4 regular Tikkas threaded 5/8-24, if you cut them back just a little and use the Sig/Q taper 5/8-24 is no problem, @p_ham has done this exact thing for me. Using this option, OP can pick up any Tikka and get what he wants.

Aren’t they all Roughtech and more expensive? My few Tikkas are regular off the rack cheapest option that I had cut and threaded, I’d rather build them out my way than pay for that threaded model that isn’t really what I’m after.

Well they also sell a wood stock model, all my Remingtons felt like trash plastic until I put them in nice stocks. At least the Tikka stock is solid, functional, and has a great integral magazine system out of the box.

He was saying the Bergara felt weird, you're missing out by dismissing Tikka out of hand. They are outstanding rifles.

The Tikka is well worth the effort. Just order one and have it sent direct to @p_ham, he'll thread it perfectly, and he can send it to your FFL ready to go out of the box.

    Great Social Media posts?

Once I realized ‘pro’ stood for promotional and not professional all this stuff made more sense.
