I found one in my muley buck this year, it was very interesting. I haven't shot anything with Barnes, but a good amount with Hammers. I've often compared them during load development, and went Hammers due to better velocity and groups.
I was looking to do similar with a Savage Stevens that allegedly belonged to my grandfather. The only options I found were stocks that might fit, but would absolutely need fitting. Anything can be restocked, but at what cost is the question. I'd ask @p_ham, I know he could 100% do it, but if...
I've had the Caribou elk sized ones for quite a while, they've been excellent. I also have the Argali deer MOB set, and they have also been really good. I'd go with either, although Caribou supports Fresh Tracks, and you can probably get a good price with the right promo code.
I've had some budget guns, some special factory guns, many semi-custom guns, and a few fully custom guns. With the quality of many guns these days, and the strength of the aftermarket, the need for a custom is much smaller than it used to be.
That being said, my Defiance action rifle built...
I was planning on trying it, but I tried RL16 first and it went so well I didn't get to SB6.5. I think I will try it just for data though in the spring when I get back on my 300wsm.
This last batch puts me past what I consider the break in period with this new barrel. First ladder with the 60gn FP, new powder for both the 75vm and 87tnt. The barrel clearly loves the 87, it’s a little slower than I’d like but might settle there since it shoots so well.
Your phone knows where you are regardless of cell service that's how OnX and the like work. I am sure they know exactly where you validated. My understanding is that all the info is saved and sent once you have service again.
I've been preaching it as a sweet spot for a long time. I switched my BIL from 300wm to one of my 300wsms. The wsm runs right with the WM with significantly less powder and the Hammers I load. It works really good in a relatively short barrel too, tough to beat. Its a great 'only one' rifle...
I have an artist friend who is going to enter the contest to design the new Montana Wildlife Crossing license plate. She is an incredible artist, a budding young hunter, and a dedicated conservationist.
From what I’m reading, MT wants the artwork to depict actual wildlife crossings in the...
What a terrible shame, young guys with so much left to do. It’s eerily familiar for me. Two kids, at the time in their early 20s, both of whom knew since they were young, went briefly missing on the shores of Lake Tahoe during a lightning storm. They were found deceased, and lightning was...
