    Commercial construction PM by day. Commercial and Custom Residential door and hardware/accessories installer on the side. Side work pays for hunting trips and home improvements.

    Western NC. Our season goes through 2/28. Very few sows out and about this time of year. I'd say 90% of what I kill after 1/15 are boars.

    I shoot 1050fps subs out of my 22s for squirrels. No crack, I don't need earpro, and they don't scatter at the shot. Shot a few out to 70 yards this year, but most shots are between 10 and 30. Don't have any cans yet. Looking forward to getting one for the 22s

    They don't really. They do lay around a lot more when it's cool, but they don't "go down" for the winter I live in the mountains. Our bears will den but they're never really out cold. If we get a really cold snap they'll lay up for a few weeks, but when it warms back up they will ramble around...

    first deer/big game animal was with a hawken musket with a home-drilled scope mount and 3x9 scope. but, my first elk was with an open sight musket in CO

    A used 1984 Browning BAR 30-06 to bear hunt with. Still have it. Will always have it. Still has never had a scope. Killed lots of bears, prolly a dozen deer, and 5 or 6 hogs.
