Self defense pistol recommendations.
Several people mentioned it @mtmiller, but i went to a place that sold pistols as well as range time and shot like 6-7 semis that I was interested in. We did this with my wife as well when I was buying her the first pistol she would shoot. If I am giving advice, i will give one on both ends... -

Here he is! After I shot there were four other bucks to my left. They all took off! Not really shooters but more bucks for sure. No ground shrinkage when I come up on him. -

He stands up. I put my crosshairs on the heart and pull the trigger. He absorbs the shot and then only moves about 5 feet and falls over. -

I am freaking out! How can he see this big deer that I can’t even see? After probably 5 solid minutes with my heart rate up and I truly thought he was punking me, I see the deer. Big deer! Now I know why I couldn’t see him. He is laying down and his horns are essentially behind a cholla... -

Started glassing at daybreak but guess what we had?? FOG. Also, the rain made most of the sandy roads impassable without some creative 4x4 driving. Got to a fence row and started glassing. 5 does crossing a field toward a stand of trees. No bucks with them. Drove further down and saw 2... -

Saw 4 bucks this AM. Good bit of rain and fog all day. Stayed in the 50s all day. Beautiful red tail hawk working the area. Drove in and did some glassing and saw 2 does, even with the rain. Came back and rested until the afternoon. Went back out and a little rain but it broke off and... -

Took some time this afternoon to scout. This was at the same time that a huge thunder and lightning storm came through. Visibility limited Does still were out in the rain. On the way home, saw this interesting owl -

Left WNC at 3am heading west to NM. Arrived in Amarillo at 8pm. Left this AM (cue George Strait song)…Amarillo by morning -
