Ever Mistake a Hunter for a Deer/Bear/Elk?
Friend of friend was turkey calling with his back against a big old oak. Coyote came ripping around the tree and bit the tip of his ear off before it realized that was a human and not a bird. Scared the hell out of the turkey and the hunter. He never got the tip of his ear back lol.- bignest

Are 4 season tents needed for mid-season (October-early November)
I would be comfortable with a 3 season tent in the times you mentioned...you might have to adjust camp below 10k, setup under a pine canopy, or make similar judgement calls based on what happens, but I think you'd be ok during most hunts. To be fair, your definition of warm with a hot tent and my definition of a warm tent without a fire in sight might be a little different :ROFLMAO:. I'm looking to sleep through the night without getting woke up from the cold or a rock on my spine lol. Bonus if my shoes aren't froze solid.- bignest

I think it’s much warmer than being on the ground as long as you have an under quilt. Will freeze without the under quilt. I’ll look in my computer for some better images later. I can’t imagine packing in a wood stove on a backpack hunt. I barely have room for my jet boil lol. Weight aside, I don’t have the room. I second JT13. PA elk boundaries are strictly enforced. I used to wonder why I would never see elk in the woods deer hunting when I’m literally only a few miles from them. You would think one would accidentally wander over. I wish I could site a source, but the state keeps those elk locked down... -

At least they’re letting hunters do it instead of the California method I hear about on podcasts…ie using tax payer money to hire snipers to shoot them and waste the meat. Or worse poison. Shot them all, bought the Hoyt
Last weekend I got to shoot all 4 flagship bows back to back. Hoyt RX7 ultra at 76lbs, PSE Levitate 80lbs, Mathews VX3 at 72lbs, and the flagship prime ( I forget the name). I enjoyed all 4 bows.
