I had a 3X9 Leupold Compact with a wind plex reticle and CDS on my Tikka TX1. It worked great at first, but the constant dialing over the past few years started to have an effect. I usually shoot 50 rounds a weekend over the summer at spinner targets between 87 and 140 yards. This summer I...
When I started hunting I would write down what I shot, day and time, how far the shot was, where the animal was hit, how far it traveled, what weapon I used, and location of kill. Not sure why I started, but I was crazy about hunting. In my early twenties I transferred the information into a...
Tough spot to be in. I had looked at the odds yeas ago and I bailed on sheep in WY when the point went to $75. I did stay in the draw for moose and drew my tag in 2018. Had a wonderful experience and killed a good bull with my bow. If I was in your shoes I’d probably drop out, but only you know...
I was considering the CZ and Tikka. Went with the Tikka and have been very satisfied with it. I have a cds on it and consistently hit spinner targets to 140 yards.
My group drew NR Regular General with 3.83 points. I have to admit I was slightly worried about point creep, glad to be hunting WY elk for the first time in September.
I'm getting really excited for the 21 season. If all goes well I'll be chasing bugling bulls in September just outside Yellowstone, hunting mule deer in Colorado, and hunting Whitetails in Alabama in January. Add in our regular PA seasons and I might have my best season hunting. I'm down almost...
I'm in the same boat as twsnow18. Hunting the wilderness south of the park on my first outfitted hunt. I've dreamed about hunting there for 40 years. I had 8 points so I point shared with my friends who are also going so they could get the regular tag. Looking forward to September. Good luck to...
I'm still waiting on my antelope B tag. I didn't draw my buck tag but did draw a doe tag. Hopefully it gets here soon. I know it took a while for my deer tag to arrive.
I've enjoyed watching the episodes with Beau and listening to him on the podcast. Was happy to donate and send prayers his way. Hopefully he has many more hunting seasons ahead of him.
I've applied every year and started applying for the archery and late hunt last year. You can't win if you don't play, plus I consider every application I do a donation to a good cause. It's a bonus when you actually draw.
I use a 50 grain pellet when my wife is practicing at the range and then 2 pellets for hunting. I know several people who have shot deer out to 75 yards using 1 pellet and a 250 gr bullet.
I pulled this from the NV regulations. If your daughter has a vision issue she may qualify to use a 1X...
