Favorite style/type of fishing and favorite place to do it ?
^+1 for the hopper-dropper rig. I fished a small stream in Montana 2 years ago after I filled my elk tag with this setup and couldn't keep them off the line. ^+1 Surf fishing for anything is a blast. I love fly fishing for trout, but when I get a chance to hit the Outer Banks in October I take full advantage. It's amazing the number of different species that can be caught in the same ecosystem.- PAelkhunter

About ready to pull the trigger
Another vote here for the FHF. Keeps them nice and tight to your chest. It lacks extra pockets large enough to carry anything else, but that's what a backpack is for. I don't have the rangefinder case, but that would be about the only thing I'd consider adding to it.- PAelkhunter

Best caliber for short to medium range woods hunting?
My vote is the .270 Win with a 130gr projectile. I started with 150’s, but couldn’t get reliable expansion on thinner skinned game like whitetail deer.
