Since you will likely have 1 preference pt, I think your best bet is to look at eastern Wyoming. Out west you typically need lots of pts to draw. The good news is that in Wyoming there is BLM and state lands. However you may wish to consider a trespass fee hunt which is reasonable in Wyoming... -

There are about 400 max pt applicant’s for the preference point draw for the bull and nearly 2000 for the random. I suppose it’s possible but slim as you say. On the other hand I suppose one could buy the fundraiser tag if they have enough clams. Congratulations on your bull. -

It looks like there is an area in this unit where you could pack in. If you’re not adverse to hiking I bet you will lose 99% of the crowd within 2 miles. I think you will be successful. -

Backpack pronghorn hunt
Call me lazy but backpacking on the prairie isn’t my style. Ripping wind with little cover. The last goat I shot was a mile from the truck which wasn’t bad. I carried it out most of the way on my back until some nice hunters from Canada let me throw it on their quad for the remaining 1/4 mile. -
