Anyone know if you are able to pick up archery elk tags at any in person locations in Utah. Was planning on just buying one when I got up there but now I’m hearing they’re available online only. Website says allow 14 days for shipping and season starts in 6 days. Can I pick it up from a dnr...
Everyone I've ever heard give application advice on NM says to put "no" for your fourth choice, but no one ever really details exactly what tag(s) you are eligible to draw. So I'm curious, has anyone actually selected "yes" for the 4th choice, and if so what tag did you receive / what was your...
Anyone down in New Mexico know if there's a good elk population in the Manzano mountain range? I remember seeing something about a new archery hunt being added for this unit this year, but now I can't seem to find any info on this. Thanks!
I’m heading out for a spring bear hunt in the frank church in about ten days and have a coulple questions I haven’t found a good answer to. 1) are the ticks real thick in central Idaho(27)? And 2) has anyone actually been out into the frank yet or know the area well enough to say if any or how...
Down here in Texas I hunt pigs at night with an AR15 in 300 blackout with thermal, and use an AR15 in 223 for coyotes and prairie dogs, and the occasional whitetail doe.
That's awesome to hear! Mind if I PM you a couple of questions about 27 in the morning? I have yet to talk with anyone who's had boots on the ground there and I'm itching to see if my observations from google earth and OnX are accurate.
Thats good to hear! I will be getting my Utah residency next year, as I will be attending the U of Utah. My family owns a house in Idaho Falls, and I'm looking forward to some awesome hunts in Utah and Idaho in the next 4 years. Me and my buddy have decided on unit 27 for bears this spring. From...
love my leupold BX-4's, I've spent a decent amount of time behind both, and the glass quality is pretty close to the same as far as I can tell... the leupolds just felt better in my hands and on my face for whatever reason.
Does anyone know if there a cut off date for purchasing a general season spring bear tag in Idaho? or can you buy them during season at sporting goods stores like a true OTC tag? And obviously a license is needed, but is some form of hunters ed required for non resident?
looking for a new hunting pack, anyone out there got any experience with any of these packs? Looking at both Kuiu Icon & Ultra, Mystery Ranch Metcalf or Marshall, and any of the Stone Glaicers. The SG's look suuuuper nice but are gonna hurt the wallet. But if they're that great.... buy once cry...
I just turned 18, and I'll be submitting a couple applications this year for the first time ever. I am playing the long game as of now b/c I won't be able to hunt for the next 4 years due to college athletics. I am looking to start applying and gathering points for Big Horn Sheep (rocky mtn)...
where ya from in Texas? me and a couple of my buddies (all 18-19) are also starting to plan our first western hunt, first spring bear in Idaho, then a Colorado elk hunt.
Im trying to plan my first western hunt (I'm from Texas), and I've been researching a spring bear hunt in Idaho, however I know Idaho allows baiting, and I was wondering who on here has success spotting and stalking in the mountains. Is it worth driving 6+ hours further to Montana to not have to...
We're going to do a spring bear hunt in Idaho this coming spring (still narrowing down the unit), and unfortunately will be limited to spring bear and possibly very early archery hunts the next couple years due to school. But I'm definitely gonna start applying for Elk and Deer tags to earn...
Thanks for the advice, I've been hearing that from quite a few people, this year I'll be putting in for a couple of sheep and goat tags, and I'm still doing some research on where to spend my money for Elk and Mule deer tags.
Hello all, I've hunted my whole life down here in Texas. I'm now 19 and beginning to plan my first hunt out west with a couple of my buddies, and I'm positive I'll have plenty of questions for you seasoned western hunters out there in the coming weeks. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me...
