    That was probably more about the type of protein you used, instead of just protein powder. Protein powders with lots of casein tore me up. Now I use a hydrolyzed protein made mostly from whey… no more peeling paint with my gas.

    My FIL passed down a Browning BAR Safari Grade .30-06 over Thanksgiving. It hasn’t been shot since the late 90’s. I tore it apart, degreased, cleaned, lubed, and reassembled it over the last month. Remounted the original Vari-X II 3x9 last night. Taking her out tomorrow morning.

    I’d look to your rings/bases first. Also sounds like you may have over tightened the front action screw and now the bottom “metal” is letting the screw get into the bolt. Check with your smith before chasing down the headspace route, he may not have needed to pull the barrel off the action to...
