Hi Folks, I suppose it's well time to put this thread to rest. What started out as a Giants Thread, turned into a "what's on my mind" ongoing story, and thanks to all for letting me play along and having this nice Forum to vent what has been an emotional roller coaster these past 6 or 7 Months...
" I was thinking back to those summer visits to Helena and wondered how old I was back then and how old Bob was. I realized I am the age now as when I met Bob. Dang, how did that happen in a blink of an eye?"
Maybe not Helena and also not Bob but i've been having a lot of similar occurrences...
Congrats to Father and son, nice bucks! I bet Gramps was happy to see you guys fill out with those bucks as much as if he had taken one of them himself. Those kind of memories you just can't buy and may never get the chance to do over!
I'm not able to spend top money on that i don't have to. My requirement on a rifle scope is that they are clear, have not too thick of cross-hair, and that they hold Zero and are easily adjusted. My best purchases have been Burris Signature series scopes that were made in America. I have 3 of...
Ha! I noticed in that pic that i'm rocking my Giants Hat, How appropriate.
RRadar, Thanks, it was kinda nice. In the pic, can see "Medicine" Lake in the background. Funny but real thing that happened to me was when scouting camp sites before the season, i stopped in at a couple of near vacant...
If it weren't for the scouting, i'd say my trip up North after a muley buck was over too quickly. As it was, i got in 8 days of camping, glassing, and checking out some pretty neat spots in one of Cali's most historic and storied areas, the country near Glass mountain and Medicine lake, lava...
GlockZ, Thanks for the tip. I just did so and for those interested, the gal there told me that it was made from 72-1974 with 1973 being the most likely year it was produced. Thanks much!
So i guess the stamp dated blue box is not correct and that concerns me that my old pard didn't dig that...
Because i filled out fairly early on my recent Muley hunt in a Far Northern Calif X-zone, i had extra budgeted hunt funds burning a hole in my pocket when my old hunting pard pulled out a safe queen 6" very dark blue, 27-2 in .357 mag and in easy 95+% condition, the firearms original pamphlet...
The time has come. after typing this out, i'm beat from the last minute hundred things to do before i can go, i'm hitting the sack knowing i'm headed out for 3 weeks starting in the morning. I just can not believe how much there is to do before going away on a hunt. Oh well, it's all done. When...
The East Bay? I cut my eye teeth on Blacktail hunting my Grandfathers large cattle ranch up on Morgan Territory rd north of Livermore. Every kid should have such a wonderful upbringing. I stayed at the Ranch with the Folks during most weekends and all summer. Much of that ranch is now either...
What he said^^^
I'm leaving Sat for a deer opener in a new to me area the following Sat. My rifle will be near me as i not only will be scouting for deer sign as well as a good place to camp, i'll also take the time to try and call in some coyotes. I figure that lots of guys are going to take...
I don't know Rob personally but i've watched all his stuff from his utube channel. Ex-Military Sniper, successful business man, and has a extremely strong passion for the outdoors way of life. There may be a few Bro's and dudes mixed in with the narrative but he's a young man with young friends...
oldschool, the area he is talking about in a "C" zone which for general rifle includes C-1, C-2, C-3, and around Lake Almanor where i live, C-4. Sounds like you were over on the other side of I-5 in a "B" zone.
Birdman, yeah you should have seen it. A fast ride around the Lake during the late...
55, congrats on your draw and nice trophy!
I first drew Calif Antelope back in 1987 then drew again about 10-12 years ago. The good news is that the "Max Point" pool for lopes is getting very small and it won't be long to where, there's always the random tags, less than max points will be...
St. Louis loses, the Dodgers lose, the Rockies and Giants both Win! A red letter day!
How about those Oakland A's and their fans celebrating making the playoffs? Good on them! They did more with less, very few gave them any chance early in the season. Maybe their Manager should get some...
