Anyone else hitting Utah Manti solo?

Just seeing if any other guys around have the same tag and are going at it alone as well. Central mountains Manti archery. I'll have a few buddies in and out, but for the most part will be up there solo. Possibly camp near one another and share Information and strong backs if either gets lucky...

Success in Oregon! What’s you’re plan for next year?

Awesome! Those early cow tags are a blast. My wife used to draw one we had a lot of fun on. Easy meat hunt. And definitely go pick that stick and string setup for next year. You won’t regret it and it’s always a good time!

Success in Oregon! What’s you’re plan for next year?

Planned 9 days in Oregon this year. Normally I do 3 weeks and two states, but recently we bought a new house and needed to help momma more then myself. Day 6 i shot this bull. Was into elk everyday and had multiple opportunities at full draw. I should have had it done much sooner, but couldn’t...

    Mystery Ranch or Stone Glacier

Try them both on and see which you like best. Everybody's bodies are different. I've tried them all except SG, and the EXO is what I liked the best. The thing I didn't like about MR was the lack of external pockets. I don't need a bunch but a few more is nice. I had the metcalf. Also the...

Serious DIY elk hunters for all western states.

Nope I never did, but still am chatting with some people a]bout this next season! It’s getting to be that time of year again. This year looks to be Oregon, Idaho, and Colorado on the list. May rifle Idaho to save room in September for the other two, but squeezing 3 states in September would be...

Anyone Tried The Kuiu Summit Refuge Shelter?

As the title describes I’m curious if anyone has tried this out yet. Specifically with the stove jack and if the design is going to work well. I see all the options you can add and has me interested.

How much water do you carry in early season?

I only carry a 3 liter platypus, and refill as needed. In my opinion if you're hunting a area with no good water when it's hot as hell out i would change areas. If the critters are there the water is somewhere close. If your worried cause the water you find is dirty run it threw a filter then...

Serious DIY elk hunters for all western states.

I wouldn't say my elk hunting is hitting just now hitting high gear. I'm simply looking to explore more states and find some like minded individuals. As far as being 30 yeah I could say I'm looking at this sideways, but I can definitely notice the qaurters on a elk seem a bit heavier then they...

Serious DIY elk hunters for all western states.

It's treated me really well I have no complaints, but I also don't have much experience with there competitors. I was thinking after this year I will try TIGoat and see how well they perform. I don't have much experience with SO tents, but have heard nothing other then great things.

Serious DIY elk hunters for all western states.

As I’ve been told by my wife I’m not getting any younger. Just hit the dirty 30 a few days ago, but luckily my line of work and high energy keeps me up to par to chase elk in the nastiest places they like to frequent. Grew up in NE Oregon and currently live in Washington. Have hunted and chased...

A long wait, but finally headed back to Oregon.

It's a awesome unit! I had that tag 5 years ago with a party of 3 and we had a blast. Never seen any good muleys while elk hunting, but ran into alot of stud whitetails. I've been trying for NM for awhile, but to no avail yet.

A long wait, but finally headed back to Oregon.

I hear you!! I have good hunting in Washington, but I just haven't figured it out yet. I know home so well all my confidence is there. The Montana dream doesn't sound to bad. I thought about trying a general tag there next year and skipping Idaho. Hell maybe I'll do both, but my luck I will...

You as well and thank you!! A real lively group in here. I guess not many people want to talk elk hunting if a opinion isn't involved.

A long wait, but finally headed back to Oregon.

After moving away to Washington 3 years back I haven't returned to hunt the hills I once roamed for 15 years straight. Sounds like I have a few more wolves to deal with now, but it's always been productive. How many other gentleman have had a career change that dragged them away from their...
