I filled a Maryland tag the first week of their season… I’d been wanting to try one with the 28 gauge for a while. This guy marched right up my gun barrel drumming.
It’s a haunted place for sure… my wife grew up just a few miles away and my sister and her husband lived there for a while(he’s still on the faculty at Gettysburg College) so I’ve been a few times…fascinating history.

I had a great hunt last week in Mississippi. Heard birds everyday. Now the bug really has me and I’m scrambling to get to Georgia or South Carolina before our season comes in here in NC.
Didn’t draw in Arizona, the switchback xt and 125 Magnus’s can collect dust another year…
Knight MK-85 with .54 cal 580 gr Parker Hydra-cons,(If bore size is mandated…. ie-Colorado)If not probably the .50 cal MK-85 with the sabot and the 300 gr Pittman bullet.
Or the .338 win mag with 225 gr...
And my wildcat…. I’ve got a 7mm-300 weatherby… in a Winchester action.
Ballistically pretty damn close to a 7mm STW but I get the joy of fire forming brass!

My muzzleloader never goes hunting without a fouling shot or two. My accuracy is peak at shots 2 through 8 ish… then it begins to degrade. Mostly shoot 777.

Can’t afford to shoot too much TSS at paper. Licenses and gas cost too much. Did plenty of paper shooting a couple of years ago. If the sub gauges fail me I’ll put them back on the shelf. I was gifted a pile of 3 1/2” 12 ga lead a year ago from a buddy who’s Dad who...
