Outfitter for Wyoming LQ Hunt Units

Was hoping for some advice - I started buying WY Pref Points 10 years ago at the suggestion of a friend, with the intent being to hunt Unit 91 for both deer and elk someday. Looking at the draw odds, I now realize I should have just gotten a General elk tag 6 years ago... I have a friend...

    Ice fishing newbie

The K-Drill is a good option for when the ice gets thicker and drilling by hand is less fun.... Find a good bait shop on a popular lake, buy a few things and get some info from them. Bait shops are a good source of up-to-date info. Navionics app is good to have and not expensive. Good luck...

New Ice Auger; What should I be looking at?

The K-Drill is a great economic and space saving option, especially if you already have an 18V or higher cordless drill. I have the 6" and it works great for trout out here in Oregon.

    Wyoming elk 91-1

I assume you’re talking about the proposed bill to reduce non-res LQ tags? If 91 isn’t worth 9 points, what unit might be?

    Wyoming elk 91-1

Just looking for some opinions on this hunt. Point creep has driven ppts required sky high! I currently have 9 elk ppts. My hunting buddy only has 5, so we need 2-3 more years to average enough to draw. We plan to hunt with an outfitter. The reason I’d like to hunt this particular unit is to...

    Hello from Oregon

Hi everyone. Not a new member, but never did post an intro on here. Live in Western Oregon and like to hunt for deer, elk and chukar. Fish for walleye and trying to learn Kokanee. My 7 yo son and I like to go ice fishing when we get the chance. Al

    Idaho Elk question

Good info here. This really throws a wrench in my plan though. Instead of Idaho being the "last" state, its now effectively "first", if you want a certain OTC tag anyway... My plan had been to apply for a Wyoming LE unit in Jan, I have about 40% chance this coming year (2018). If...

    Let'er Buck - Pendleton, Oregon

Thanks! Yep, I know Paterson - fish that area of the river for walleye pretty regular, or used to before our little curtain climber came along!

    264 win mag

140 Partitions over 68 gr Retumbo gets a shade over 3100, good accuracy. Rifle is a Rem 700 action w a 26" Lilja barrel, 1-8" twist, HS Precision stock. Similar loads with Accubonds and the 142 gr LRAB also. Seems like a 3100 MV is the sweet spot for this rifle, regardless of bullet.
