Ain’t no way his land would grow 220 bu/acre corn- it’s southern Missouri weathered chert and clay. He’s growing more beef with grass and a modified grazing method compared to what that same acreage in corn and feed lots would produce.- R.K.

Native grasses are damn good forage, and can provide more biomass and nutrition per acre than most other plants you can run cattle on. The problem is they cannot handle the sustained pressure of continuous grazing by cattle, which is also a selective grazing model- that’s why brome and fescue...- R.K.

Either native pasture, grazed with proper rest-rotation, or cover crop mixes that can be grazed, or cut for silage. Just something that supports more life than a sterilized patch of dirt that lays barren for 5 months a year. There’s a solution here that keeps us fed, farmers in business, and...- R.K.

Or convert monoculture cropland to something less environmentally disastrous to increase the supply again. It’s not just the feedlots- it’s the chemical-intensive monoculture crops that sterilize the soil to support them, too.- R.K.

What’s in them?
I’ve read some of the files. It includes descriptions of events and crimes that are beyond disturbing. There appears to enough evidence to prove guilt for a lot of people, for a long time. And while I believe in “innocent until proven guilty”, I’m building a damn guillotine. I’m hoping the...- R.K.
