I’ve tried to do what I can to eat healthy. From everything I’ve been able to read about nutrition, appetite, and physiology, there are essentially 3 things I try to avoid, one I try to limit.
1- added sugar. It increases appetite to make you want more calories, spikes blood glucose to give you...
I had what I thought was a great start to the bird season. Then the pup got hurt. Then I missed. And missed again. Then the pup got hurt again.
I haven’t shot a bird since November, at least. It kinda stings. I think I need to go chase ducks before season closes.
They don’t have a website, but this local (to me) place does some pretty decent work. Was lucky enough to view their personal stuff, and can confirm they do artistry instead of just taxidermy- bases, backdrops, habitat scenes, etc. Purcell’s Wildlife Artistry...
I need to figure out how to slow my pup down, or avoid barb wire. Tried to vault a bail of it in a gully I couldn’t see that well, didn’t quite make it. Sliced both legs open, but they didn’t really bleed. She got 15 staples between both front legs, not coming out until after season.
Aren’t...
The actual impact of wolves and feral horses- ecological, environmental, and economic.
But on a fun side note- I’m hearing that most of those redactions appear to have been done with Adobe one-touch redactions, which are laughably simple to undo. So it’s either gross incompetence (doubtful), or...
I prefer this version. Cleaner vocals from Patty in her prime. Probably the best version I’ve heard, and there’s quite a few.
For hallelujah, I think JBJ doesn’t have the right voice for it. Bigger fan of this one from Brandi Carlile.
For all the Mumford & Sons fans out there.
And for...
The key factor here is that the landowner did not shoot the deer, but then reduced it to possession to move it "several miles" without properly tagging it. That's a violation, no matter that angle you play.
So this is what I was trying to get to.
The landowner should have been ticketed for possession of a deer he did not 1- kill, 2- properly tag.
You’re hosed, but that landowner actually broke the law as soon as he moved the deer off his property. The fact that he wasn’t ticketed is what is...
Why did the landowner move the deer, where did they move it to, and did they attempt to reduce the deer (that they didn’t kill) to possession without tagging the animal?
Three days is hard- be proud that you were able to stick with it. Just gotta keep that “one-day-at-a-time” mentality, and definitely don’t be afraid to reach out for help when it gets tough.
And it definitely will, probably around that two-week mark. Don’t give in.
You’ve made it this far...
Question- what did the landowner do with the deer? Did he move it at all without talking to the warden, or without tagging it?
I say you’re not getting that deer back, and have no legal recourse to do so. My questions are just out of curiosity.
I don’t think wolves are endangered in the lower 48.
With that said, I am absolutely against this blatant attack on the ESA that will undermine all science-based wildlife management in the future. Reforming the EAJA to end abuses/serial litigators would do far more for getting things working...
I saw camouflage in Abercrombie & Fitch this weekend in Minneapolis. Multiple items of it. And it wasn’t just that store. Not to mention the Sitka bros around every corner. I started doing some math on the faded realtree sitting in the back of the closet, and it made me think long and hard about...
But recovery without intact spawning habitat is impossible.
The biggest declines, in my somewhat scientific opinion, are due to trawling in the ocean 1- killing fish via bycatch, 2- removing forage biomass from the food chain, 3- preventing forage biomass production via permanent bottom habitat...
Looks like Ryan Busse is weighing in on this.
Being Facebook, the comments leave something to be desired- normally truth, intelligence, and spelling.
