The price has kept me from taking the plunge, but I'm thinking pretty hard about trying Hammers in my 7mm-08 this winter. I'm coming around to the idea that the petals would branch out a bit and do more damage, especially if you end up hitting a bit off from where you intended. Accuracy is...
I'm running into this very issue at work right now. I'm told by attorneys that this is likely an "overburdening" of the easement. My heart is always on the side of accessing public lands, but I'm guessing it won't go that way in this case.
If you really like your reusable game bags, sell me on them. I've been thinking about getting a set. Would love to hear about your experiences. Thanks!
No, not yet. It was shooting 140 gr E-tips at about 2785 before the chop. I'm guessing I'll have lost 50 fps, or so, but we'll see..
For reference, mine is a stock T3x Lite Stainless, with a chopped barrel, Stocky's carbon fiber stock, High Desert bottom metal replacement and upgraded action...
Mine didn't start out as a compact rifle, but I chopped my Tikka 7mm-08 down to 20" this year and put a really light stock on it. I love the way it carries now. 6.8 pounds with the scope. I do a lot of similar hunting to what you do. Mostly still hunting and tracking in thick woods.
I think that's a good point, but let's not forget that there's some really good hunting on public, too. And, plenty of spots that are now accessible via a corner, that still require a lot of work to take advantage of (more than most hunters will put in).
Eww. Slap a 100% tariff on that stuff! Butter. Enough said.
I will say though, that I recently tried Tillamook's strawberry ice cream(not usually one of my favorite flavors) and hot damn, that is the best strawberry ice cream I've ever had.
I'd love to hear the tricks people have come up with for hanging/drying clothes, boots, etc. in a hot tent. Are you just tying dry lines up in the top of the tent? Building little racks on the ground? What has worked best for you?
