Dyaphram calls for newbs.
It takes a lot of practice to even begin sounding like an elk or turkey. Everyone struggles with it at first. Just get a handful of calls and practice every day. It will eventually become natural.- Double Creek

WY Wilderness Rule ?
The only way to get it changed would be to have the neighboring states to put a reciprocal agreement in that required WY residents to have an outfitter or "friend" to hunt other wilderness areas in other states. If you want it changed, petition your own state to put the same requirement on WY...- Double Creek

Elk calls
I just got an external from Cory Jacobson and really like it. To me it is much easier to use than a diaphragm. It's also easier to keep up with as you can just hang it from your neck.- Double Creek

I have never hunted in the mountains or for elk
Lose as much weight as you can, get in great shape, really focusing on lower body, squats, sprints, hiking with weight, etc... Also, get some GOOD boots and break them in now. On my 3rd back country hunt, I neglected my feet and developed some blisters that ruined my hunt.- Double Creek

Cooler choice
I have a Yeti and an Engle... I really like the Engle, but the latches are a very poor design and are weak. I have already lost a couple of them due to the pins slipping out. If they would go to more of a Yeti style latch, they would be hard to beat. I love the Yeti, it is just a little heavy.- Double Creek

Honest info on living in the Jackson WY area.
The saying in Jackson Hole is the billionaires ran all the millionaires out. Checking real estate prices, I would say that is true. But, I have never seen another place like it, very special place. If there is a way to pull it off, I would do it.- Double Creek
