    First time pronghorn

Being there before season will be great because you'll be able to look at animals with zero pressure of pulling the trigger.

The battleship is in drydock being built

Yeah, can't believe how fast you turned that around. I guess it wasn't your first rodeo though. Looks really nice.

    Plantar fascitis, question.

I pulled my right calf in September last year. Took about 6 weeks somewhat off. Guess it wasn't enough, and it evolved into PF by December. Been fighting it ever since in both feet, but the right leg is worse. PT has helped with it, but I have to be diligent and if I get lazy things get really...

Driving To AK from the lower 48.

In 2023, we bought a popup camper and took my year and a half old daughter to Homer and back. Once there, we stayed with family and I worked remotely. Had to go up the Cassiar and back on the Alcan due to fires. Great trip overall. We essentially had 9 days on each end for driving and it would...

Boat motor repair kit, wanting input

Last Saturday went sideways fast. This was after the wind had "calmed down". It would have been really convenient for my power switch to actually be wired to use one of my trolling motor batteries as a back up starter. Its fully capable just was never done. ( situation worked out in the end...

    Drop Camp Caribou Hunt

I was reading this thread without realizing it was 5 years old. It seems you came around to the point that has prevented me from going: unless you have an in with a transporter via someone that flew with then previously, its about impossible to book one ... at least one with any decent...

    Lithium Batteries

I have a main and 2 trolling motor lead acid batteries, an alternator and an onboard charger. While I would love switch to Lithium for the weight savings, trying to figure out how all that is wired and redo to support Lithium sounds like a major project 😆

    Vanish and FireTiger's 2025 Journal

I may get out for a goose hunt next week. T has a local connection. I've never been goose hunting and only mildly interesting but this is a golden opportunity. Its currently 64F outside. Probably another bird or small game hunt in early 2026, but frankly my mind is already on 2026 fishing...

    Vanish and FireTiger's 2025 Journal

On Saturday, I woke up way too early to pick up T and N for a pheasant hunt. This was mostly for the dogs, as Colorado pheasant hunting just isn't great. It was not pleasant weather- 40mph winds and 23 degrees. However, it was one of the best bird number days I've ever had. Mostly hens, but we...

    Vanish and FireTiger's 2025 Journal

This was essentially home for the 10 day hunt. In the back of the truck, I have thise interlocking foam rubber mats on the bed. This makes it easier on the knees, and keeps feet much warmer. On the driver's side I had a cot with a couple pillows, a comforter and a sleeping bag. Underneath the...
