    2020 NV Archery

Just wanted to share the buck I was lucky enough to cross paths with a few days ago. After four days of hunting some awesome country and having more than one close call with other great animals I found this guy. Did my best to get in on him the following morning and for once everything...

How many of you have been hit with the beaver fever (giardia)?

I spent a handful of days about 3 weeks ago on a steelhead trip in Idaho. The way we fish this particular area is wade fishing nymphs. Throughout the course of the trip iced up eyes on the rods were a problem about every 20-30 minutes and i became incredibly proficient at using my mouth to...

Zamberlan Baltoro GTX Boots Size 9

Basically brand new. I really like the boots but bought them in a size that is a hair too big. Only worn one time but I'm having a difficult time exchanging them since I bought them online. They retail for $360 but I'm asking $300 plus shipping, I just need to get something that works for me...

Waiting on tag results... So here's a cat story!

I've always struggled with the late January-March time period where most hunting is over with and fishing for the most part isn't really spectacular around here. A few years back I started tagging along with some friends who run dogs during this time of the year when conditions are right...

    Nevada Cali Bighorn Hunt

I really enjoy all the great threads about peoples hunts and experiences in the hills and figured that I'd throw one of my own out here since the seasons are winding down and hopefully some of you can get the same enjoyment. DISCLAIMER: I wrote this up immediately after the hunt while the...

Vortex Optics customer service is unreal

I'm sure most of you are aware of Vortex VIP warranty program but I just wanted to say how incredibly awesome they are. I recently sent back my "everything binos," they are Viper HD's and they have seen it all. I keep them in the truck and if I forget my other optics or am doing something that...

    Swaro ATS 80 vs. 65

Hey all, I currently have a Vortex 65 that I love for what I paid for it but it's time to upgrade to the Swaro ATS. I'm having a hard time deciding between the 65HD or the 80HD. I do a fair amount of backpack hunting so the 65 appeals to me (9 0z lighter and obviously takes up less room) but...

    Mt non-resi goat application

Hey guys, I imagine this is about the most knowledgeable bunch of guys around to ask about this so I'm hoping for a little insight into the mt non-resi goat hunt options. I'm currently looking at units 313,323,324,325. I'm aware that there is always the possibility of there not being any non...

    Every once in awhile

How many times have we all been out in the hills chasing animals and devised a plan of attack that at the time seemed like it was rock solid only to have it fall apart in comical fashion? For me this seems to be an annual occurrence. I can look back at all the great ideas I've had while...

    90 degrees on the opener!

Luckily we had a good field scouted and we're able to be home by 8:30 am. I would much rather hunt mallards and geese in December and January but the gullible early season birds are always are great time, especially when they are a mile from the house.

    Another new guy

Hey everyone, I've been lurking for awhile and figured I'd take the opportunity to create a profile and join in the discussions. It's nice to see a forum that is more constructive than negative and doesn't seem to be entirely state specific. You all seem to be very educated on the topics...
