In theory if they were all decent tags I'd think this could work. Every year the first tags donated are some of the worst antelope units in the state. Last minute you'll get general deer/elk tags donated. Would be very tough to plan if I'm hunting antelope in NE Wyoming or elk outside Cody. I've...
IIRC, the rest of the unit sees tag cuts, but the One Shot hunt maintains their hold on these tags that go to the highest bidder? At least that's how I recall it from a few years back when there was some drama about it.
Had M/G/S/B licenses 4 years in a row? That's BS for sure. 4 years in a row for a general deer or elk tag doesn't seem that weird to me. There are still several buddy's of mine stationed/retired in Cheyenne, it wouldn't be that weird to be able to get a tag and keep hunting with them year after...
Relying on doctors is also not a sure thing anymore, as many of these law firms designed for getting vets 100% ratings have doctors in their pockets.
I'm good with limiting season date exemptions to those with physical disabilities. A person should have no problem proving, "hey I've got X, Y...
I too have used it. You said there are local non-profits (the vet orgs) snagging tags for the same handful of people. I would be curious who those orgs are and who the people are. Nothing grinds my gears more than these orgs that run off the good ol' boy system.
I've seen that happen for sure, what's the org in Cheyenne that is facilitating that? It always surprises me how fast they are gone based on that snail mail factor. I can't say I've ever even see a moose/sheep/goat tag hit that list although I know they do get donated. Frankly I have been...
I was astounded to find out they still use snail mail for this. Three envelopes converge in Cheyenne from all over the place and then the application is all put together and the tag transferred. Very clunky.
Agreed there is more often than not tags leftover and sometimes pretty decent ones at...
I have the MR, same collapsible ram rod. It's not bad, but I'm glad to have a dedicated range rod.
I imagine I could get by with just the collapsible one by pulling the breech plug and say pushing a charge/bullet all the way through rather than needing to pull, same with cleaning.
As slow as...
