You said there are very few people that should use a 22 cal centerfire for big game and I'm just curious what the difference is between using a .243 and say a 22-250, 22 creed, 220 swift or even a 223. So 80 grain 6 mm bullet is good but 80 grain 22 cal of similar construction is bad? This is where I really get myself wrapped around the axel with this stuff. The 243 is probably one of the most recommended cartridges for young/new shooters- Fire_9

The smaller caliber/cartridge stuff can make sense to me. If the projectile creates a sufficient wound channel, that's all that matters. The one argument against it that I've heard and can get on board with is that it's more difficult to pinpoint/spot where you hit an animal. You can spot shots...- Fire_9

A consistent 1/2-3/4” shooter doesn’t ask internet strangers what’s wrong with their groups. Not throwing shade as Im not a consistent shooter either. Put some more rounds through it without cleaning and see what you get -
