I’m a big fan of the EXO, they are light and pack well. I‘ve packed out 3 bulls, a 1trip muley buck, and a 1trip Desert BigHorn; the setup and options / accessories are great.
I seriously doubt you’ve got anything to worry about. I do however, understand the difference “peace of mind” makes on a hunt. I hunt grizz county solo in bow season and I spend a lot of the time keeping my “mind” from ruining my hunt. Cutting fresh grizz tracks alone will mess with your head...
No permit (slim chance), Big Game Combo (1pp i purchase with the app). Anyone know if the NR apps had a substantial increase this year? I suspect with the changes to Idaho and Wyoming, MT would see an increase and those states would see a decrease (At least i hope that has happened). If not...
Lotta good suggestions here. What do you plan on doing to it once you have it, keep it bare bones or modify the interior for some camping comforts (which can become pretty elaborate)?
I don't have a lot of experience with different brands (and I don't think it really matters until you pay...
In September of 2017, I was hunting the same area as the hunters that were attacked and I ran in to these tracks. The one set came over the top of a fresh elk track i was following. They were all over a cut thru a long cliff on the south side on Cottonwood Creek towards the top by Black Butte...
A couple things that are big positives for the enclosed that i’ve learned over the last couple seasons: no setup time for sleeping on the out of state long trips (vegas-MT); add a Big buddy heater and single digit/sub zero temps are no problem; add a generator and it feels like glamping tv...
I’m thinking of getting rid of my quad (Polaris 850xp) for a dual sport motorcycle (tw200, xt250 or a DRZ400). The main reason is for space saving to and from the hunting area. Anyone have a strong opinion one way or the other?
I use 2 options, a generator/electric heater or a MR Buddy/propane. I had it in single digit temperatures and had no issues, (the Big Buddy 18k btu will roast the place).
Pulls fine ground clearance is ok for the better traveled roads, rutted 2 tracks would be a problem dragging.
I would've gone with a 12' for easier manuevering, but i needed the extra length for a utv. In a pinch you can turn it in the middle of the road with a handyman jack and sweat...
