Yeah. We were thinking that if my brother and I were both going for four that would be 8 animals total which had the potential to fill that time frame but we'll probably try to have a bit extra saved up in case they have anything that could be culled with extraordinary trophy fees.
Did you feel adequately gunned with that 30-06? I was thinking of going with a '06 for our Africa hunt but everyone says how tough all the animals are....and also, the whole "if you hit it... you bought it" mindset had me considering something bigger.
Ours is supposed to be a 10 day 2 hunter hunt. I'm a bit uncertain what to expect. I don't want to/ could afford to kill 10 animals but if each of us were planning on 4, would we end up tagged out too soon. Curious to hear about your experiences.
Bears are tough. I shot a couple small ones then thought I'd try to watch them for a bit and judge them a bit. It's still a coin toss. Only one though have I shot one that I thought would be small and was pleasantly surprised.
Congrats. I used to bait bears with meat scraps and fryer grease. When I skinned them out, that's exactly what they smelled like. I baited a bear last year with Apples, molasses, and sweet feed. I skinned it out and the darn thing smelled like a carmeled apple.
