Yep, far better to ride along with a pro driving, we are definitely as good as we think we are. Daytona is an awesome ride a long. Have done Michigan and also did Chicago in a 2seat Indy car. Really want to do one and go to Martinsville and Dover.- Steve O

Chase AZ elk archery tag vs burning points for a late season rifle or muzzy hunt?
Depends on the experience you want. I’ve hunted one unit in AZ three times; twice early archery and once late rifle. I’d give an appendage to hunt it in September again. You couldn’t pay me to hunt it again in November. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there on a late season hunt. Other units...- Steve O

Exactly. And after 22 years. That cost $18.19/year “extra” for one of the finest optical instruments made, and one used in incredibly unforgiving environments. Not much lasts forever and there is no blanket “free” repair. Use some common sense and be reasonable. Find a 22 year old Vortex...- Steve O

Hard to get anything to shoot over an inch in any barrel I have for the R8; 243, 264, 300, and 375. I’ve got a safe full of other rifles I never shoot anymore. Very happy with the Blaser. -
In Praise of The Winchester .270. Any good words to say about it ?
A good .270 can do perfectly what 99.9% of North American hunters need. Mine have taken everything from antelope to Alaska Yukon moose. All time great. -

If you need help outside the extended family, I’d lend a hand. I volunteer to help for the handicapped hunt at Shiawassee and have some family visits scheduled Thanksgiving week and Christmas but am all for proper deer management. I’ve shot all the MI bucks I ever need.- Steve O

Because of threats from the farm bureau and insurance companies there was an incredibly effective campaign of eliminating as much as possible our deer herd. I’d make a good old .270 BUT…I would set it up with a fast twist barrel to shoot a heavy Berger or LRAB and that would also be good for monos. Market it as such and show what THE old dog ca do with the new tricks as it turns 100 years old.
