A lot of guys up here in Alaska use the Cabela's Alaskan Guide tents. We have a new Cabela's opening up this spring. An 8 man version is on my wish list. Youth Hunting Clothes
For general gear a lot of options exist, but when you drag your kid into rough country far from help you need high quality gear, IMO. I can be miserable and still have a good time, not so much with the kiddos, especially the first couple of times. I've been slowly building my son's quality...- High Country

Youth Hunting Clothes
My son sure loves his Sitka gear. (Even if I keep mixing it up between KUIU, First Lite, and Sitka.). They all make great stuff, but only Sitka takes care of the youth. Kudos to them for making the effort.- High Country

I called Mystery Ranch the other day and talked through the above debate. I too have been seeing some decent prices on the Grizzly and Kodiaks, but for hauling a load in rough country they really pushed me to the NICE system. My next pack will be the MR NICE 6500.
