Could have been there if he would have had better mains and a bit better spread. We had him at the 370 mark and maybe pushing 380 so in the end we were right in there. 48 & 48 4/8 mains and 34 4/8 spread if my memory serves me correctly. If he were to have the standard 39-40" spread with 53"...
Ya there going a bit in the morning and things are getting better by the day. Just need a few more days and some cooler temps and things should be very good. Elk are spread out with all the feed and good water.
Pm me if you feel like it. I know a little about the area and the critters that call it home. Ill be out of service for a while but may be able to get ya some pointers.
Several big thunder showers all summer from Flowing wells to Winnett and north.
At the end of June most of the roads were in good shape but a few roads with good drainage above them were washed out. I know the main county road on the Snow Creek road was washed out big time but they may have it...
The road to Devils Creek is in as good a shape as it can be. Lots of gravel like normal lots of dust and lots of pot holes. Like most years just take your time getting there and you'll be in good shape, boat and camper too. Just spoke with a friend of mine that lives a Brussett and him and his...
What I heard from the county is that several of the roads are just going to have to wait. I imagine carl's, alex, and horse camp will get a hole punched through them quick, like with a blade, but can't confirm this. There were several bridges damaged this spring that were just repaired from...
Not quite. Wrong area.
Be prepared to lace up your shoes as spots can be crowded. The water is all in good shape as well as the feed and this should help keep the elk spread out some.
He's the numbers I have given him, granted I have video and watched him in person a few times so... for what it is.

Total 361
I may be a tad short on a couple points but also maybe a tad long a some as well. Just what I see. Not enough...
I don't have a permit there this year but a few of my friends do, so maybe someone will get him and we will see what he's really got. I kind of hope he makes it one more year cause he's a younger bull just coming into his prime (4.5 maybe 5.5 years). This bull will hit 390+ next year no sweat...
Yes inside main beams for width. Ear width on bigger mature elk are generally 22", ear from where it attaches to head to the tip is 7.5". So go from there.
I actually put him at 360 or a bit better based and his good fronts and above average width. So, so back end on him. I originally thought just 350 but added everything up and came up with 363 so I'll stick to 360.
