Rain Gear....
I 2nd the impertech....I bought mine for a brown bear hunt on Afognak a couple years ago...Nothin will get through em. I bought the bibs and long Jacket...cheap as hell through Gary Olsens The Sportsmans Guide. They buy in surplus so, check back every now and then. Hope this helps...good...- Petey

Thanks for your help...here's my bear!!!
I shot him with a 338 Rem. Mag. with 250gr. Nosler Partitions. My little sister and me snuck up on him while he was fishing in a creek that drained out of a small lake! Shot him at 15 to 20 yards!!!! Let me tell you this.......It sure makes your butt pucker when your scope is turned down to 3...- Petey

Gear checked as baggage?
Thanks for the replies!! I like the idea of putting your pack inside another duffle for extra protection. I am pretty sure I need to skrimp down a bit on the extra that I am bringing. I will be staying with family on the island so I thought it might be a good idea to bring extra boots and...- Petey

Gear checked as baggage?
I was wondering if anybody could give me a little advice on bringing my large (bad lands 4500) pack to AK? I looked on the Alaska Airlines website and found that it would cost me at least $50 each way to bring as checked baggage ie if it is not over weight or exceeds measurment standards...- Petey

2009 Fall Brown Bear....Help!!!
Thanks for the reply and map link, TB. I believe that I will pick up at least one blacktail tag cause god knows if I don't, I will see a smokin buck. My little sis put in for a registration elk permit so if we see one of those she will be able to put it down. Hopefully I will have a freezer...- Petey

2009 Fall Brown Bear....Help!!!
