I woke up late for a 2 hrs drive to hunt in Va. I get to the farm about 8:30 , walk 30 yards across a field to a hedge line. As I'm entering my cut through I spotted a nice big buck 125 yards. Down on one knee ol smoke pole dropped him , maybe 5 minutes.
Not this trip. One of my boys and wife just moved here so I'm hoping sometime soon.
I did a pig hunt. All I saw was a big 10 point. Season is in and the property manager asked me why I didn't shoot him I said I was pig hunting. Gained some points from him.
Love working this one. A lot of glazing, detail with a limited pallet. I started this back in June right after the last elk painting and it has set. Shop has kept me very busy. So on vacation for 2 weeks in sunny Charleston SC I've put some time in on this. Still a bit to do.
