Ok, maybe a silly question. What do you do with the extra grindings that are left over in the bottom of the stuffer that you cannot get into the sausage casing? I have tried using bread in the grinder to clear out most of the left over meat but the only thing I have come up with for the...
This seems to be the year in eastern South Dakota for the top of the rabbit cycle. Not uncommon to see 4-5 of them in the yard when you come home at night. I was driving past a guy mowing at work and as he passed close to the bushes, the bunnies were running everywhere. Anybody else notice this...
I managed to draw a Muzzle loader any deer tag, looking to head west. No elk again this year. Maybe next year? It's harder to draw with less tags and more demand on the deer hunt combined with EHD outbreaks. Good luck.
Loading some 180 Nos BT into 300WSM and Coal I'm aiming for is 3.070 but a couple of the bullets ended up at 3.090. What is the cause of this. I assume the bullet seating is done off of the ogive so why are some longer? are the jackets not all symmetrical ? Is this a normal thing. I'm using Lee...
Anyone ever hunted this unit ? Seems like its pretty much all dark timber without much grass. Has there been any fires in there in the last few years that may have opened things up a bit?
Just got back from the BH deer hunt. Toughest hunt I've been on in some time. Did a ton of walking, waiting, rattling, calling. Did not see a ton of deer. Eventually found a deer with horns that I could get in my scope (4x3). Saw a lot of tree damage from spring storms I guess. Hunting an area...
I know this is the Deer forum but that's what I am hunting when these events happen so here you go. Couple of weeks ago I am sitting in this stand and I spot a couple of deer out about 100 yds feeding in previously flooded area that has good green grass growing now. I spied a turkey in this same...
I live in a state that limits muzzleloaders to 1x scopes or sights. Being an archer, I like the advantage that a fiber optic wrapped sight brings to the accuracy of bows. Problem with most rifle fiber optics is they are a .060 rod that covers up around 12" @ 100 yds. A .010 fiber would...
Best of luck. I'll go out tomorrow night just for the sake of it. Do not plan to shoot anything unless its special due to the heat and expeditious recovery needed. You never know though. Can't kill from the couch.
Anyone shooting one? Just picked one up pretty reasonably off the big auction site. Waiting its arrival. Tell me what your experiences are with one? Thanks
You've heard of animals getting killed by falling timber and today I found proof of it. I was out wandering through the woods and I spotted this rooster tail-feather sticking up out of the grass and naturally I had to pull it out. Poor bird apparently died when that branch fell on him. I started...
Its been a few years with this system and the people that can't get their desired tag are still upset. Its just not fair that I can have multiple tags and they can't draw one. Now, I am willing to hunt with different weapons in different places and somehow not allowing me to do this will help...
