Are tungsten turkey loads worth the money?

First off, I'm not an experienced turkey hunter. I've been pricing some turkey loads for a hunt this spring, and holey moley, they are higher than Snoop Dog. For you folks that have experience, are the tungsten loads really worth it? Also, do I really need a turkey choke instead of my regular...

    35 Whelen vs 7mm Mag

Ok, I sold my 7 mag to a buddy because I just didn't need that much gun for whitetails and hogs. The ammo was expensive and I was just kinda itchin for a new rifle. Now, I may have an opportunity to do an elk hunt out in west Texas. My buddy has kindly offered to loan me the 7 mag back for the...

Can sheep and goats see blaze orange?

Researching this on the internet, there is conflicting information. I know from personal experience while wearing blaze orange, deer will look right through me from close distance and won't make me out unless I'm outlined or moving. Does anyone have any personal experience with...

I found an old carbine barrel

I found this old carbine barrel in the woods today. It looks like it still has part of the falling block receiver. Maybe a Sharps military carbine? Anyone have a clue?

    Hornady Precision Hunter 7mm Mag

Does anyone have any real world, on game experience with this round? It is lights out accurate in my rifle and my chrono shows the velocity is right as advertised. My only concern is will the ELD-X bullet hold together at closer ranges. I plan on using this on aoudad. Thanks

    My new smokepole

I just ran across this at an estate sale. 54 cal TC Hawken. Other than some minor handling marks, it's perfect. I'm not sure if it's ever been fired. The nipple looks new and there is absolutely no carbon underneath it. The barrel was dusty but a dry patch wipe removed some old lube and dust...
