A little humour for your day

I wonder how much sales of those items have increased since the rise of “don’t have to face the cashier” shopping methods.

    Nov 3 - Independents’ Day?

There’s plenty, if you can understand math. Nothing is perfect, but we shouldn’t let “not perfect” stop us from finding something better than the current illusion of choice.

    Facebook Marketplace Gold

These sort of things are pushed in your algorithm based on search history on marketplace and somewhat on your overall browsing history. Do with that info what you will. 😂

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

Yeah, that's kinda why I thought to post here in the first place.

    Muzzleloader Safety

A few things, since I'm not that well versed in this topic, but very interested in building a traditional cap & ball some day. Laramy "Sasquatch" Miller- lost a finger to a muzzleloader accident. Kept the gun loaded, with a cap on for moisture prevention, but carried it by the barrel over his...

    Crops and their Contents

That would make more sense. Hickory appear to only be in the far SE corner of MN, along the river corridor.

A little humour for your day

I mean, it's fairly accurate if you use the original definition: Original 1800s Meaning: Coined in New York City around the 1880s—likely linked to "Yankee Doodle"—it originally mocked an overly fashionable man, a dandy, or a "city slicker" visiting the American West (which inspired terms like...

    Cartridge for Dedicated suppressed build?

What weight are you shooting? That kinda makes me want to just have my 308 threaded. I shoot 168gr copper monolithics (TTSX, E-tip), and I've had great success with those on deer/antelope. I just can't mix & match them, because the E-tips shoot high and left compared to the TTSX on the same...

Can anyone school me on blue grouse and chukar?

Not really. Just puke in the morning as a reminder to drink a half gallon and some electrolytes. 😅

Can anyone school me on blue grouse and chukar?

Nah, forget to drink enough water and collapse from dehydration the next day- then you don't have to get up in the middle of the night!

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

Sounds like you found something that works for him. I’m glad he’s got someone like you in his life to help him get through it.

    Crops and their Contents

Is that a hickory nut in the lower crop? I'm curious how it got past the shell.

    Crops and their Contents

Got a hun out of a cut hayfield. Looking at the crop, there’s a few seeds, but mostly greens. Not exactly a botanist, but I’m thinking… alfalfa?

    Kentucky Elk in Crisis

Stop using AI. It’s heavy on the artificial, low on the intelligence.

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

@jryoung Glad you were able to figure it out. And you’re right- a good support system is invaluable in the process. One thing you mentioned sparked a thought- I was tired of “just dealing with it” out of sheer damn stubbornness. I was tired of being miserable when there is a viable path to a...

    Cartridge for Dedicated suppressed build?

With the endless discussions on “which caliber is best for elk”, I thought I’d start another thread, with a couple specifics thrown in. Basically- suppressors are amazing, and I intend to get one. However, the tradeoffs they bring in terms of rifle handiness (length & balance) and decreased MV...

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

I’ve run into this a bit, especially with those in previous generations. And the ones who do believe it don’t always understand how it spirals into other things (especially as an adult), and they’re quick to point out these other symptoms rather than the root of it. I didn’t fully understand it...

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

And the guilt of letting people down because you ran out of energy or simply forgot to do the thing you said you would. But that’s a different issue.

ADHD- Long overdue to deal with it

That’s the thing- they don’t get “hits” of dopamine doing those things, it’s just always at that level, even for the most mundane of tasks. They can still get hits doing things, but the base level is just higher.
