It is 1X fired Hornady. That other piece was from the first load charge. There was one more that had the same ring after firing. They were from factory loads.
Thank you for your response @marksjeep !
I have tried Hornady factory loads. And Barnes factory loads. And federal factory.
I anneal after every firing. And bump the shoulder .002”.
I agree on the ring around the other case. It was from the 1st group. And the only one from that group that...
Hello fellow shooters. I have a Weatherby Vanguard chambered in .270 Winchester that I won at a CDA Dinner. This is my first Weatherby that I have owned. I am generally happy with the fit and finish but I have never been able to get it to group better than 1.5”. I am not new to reloading and all...
Well I went out to shoot some of the loads I have been working up. Not a good day at all. I will start a new thread away from here so as to not clog it up. Had issues with the rifle and what I believe is the brass. Here is a little sample of what’s going on.
This was unexpected today. I run by a couple of places that sell reloading supplies. Picked up the last two bricks of these. I have not seen prices like this for a long time. I thought it was a typo at first!! And then sportsman’s warehouse had CCI 200 and CCI 400 on sale for $5.99 each!
This afternoon I annealed around 200pc of 223 for a gas gun. I also found a pound of Leverevolution to try out.

That’s a tough question to answer. Everyone’s abilities are different. And I think that in general the MK series is as or more accurate than the average guy. Myself included. I can say that the red dot has drastically improved my accuracy especially at distance.
The trigger is a Tandemkross Victory with the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit. The red dot is a Holosun HS507 Comp. The targets are 1” dots and 10 shots each dot. Distance is 10yards.
The MKIV 22/45 is such a great training platform for new shooters. The MK series have a ton of aftermarket support to build your pistol however you want. Ammo is cheap and they are not picky. And they are extremely accurate. This is my favorite pistol to shoot. It always goes to the range with me.
MTorWY,
I have 166 gr HH out of my Tikka M695 in 30-06 3,000Fps with H4350.
I just got a new Weatherby Vanguard in .270 that I am working up a load with the 117gr HH.
And my wife’s Tikka T3 Superlite in 6.5 Creedmoor is pushing a 110 gr HH @ 3,250 FPS.
I have a Tikka M695 in 30-06. I loaded up 166gr HH in it. I have yet to put a round into an elk but there is no doubt that’s what I will be shooting. I get sub MOA out to 500.
