-reloading, most availability for those burn rates of powders and bullet selection. Also one of the cheapest big game rounds to reload. I should mention bang for your buck, can get about 140-160 loads per lb of powder.

Gotta get on the ground looking at deer travel paths, scat, scrapes, beds etc. are you looking to intersect a mature buck, or just shoot any deer feeding? What’s your goal here?

Took a >350 lb black bear with this load, never recovered the bullet, pass through.
I run the 165’s in .308, flat base. 2700 fps load, usually never recover a bullet. Just recovered my first interlock, 72% weight retention. They are incredibly tough for a cup in core (in my experience). A 139 will be Absaloutly ripping in a 7mag, they will work fine on deer.
