Shooting from a tripod
That is completely up to you and how you want to hunt. A bipod will most likely be smaller and lighter weight - my "shooting" tripod is north of 4 pounds. However, the versatility of it and how confident I am off of it makes it justifiable for me. Yeah, you could get away with just one tripod...- Black Elk

Shooting from a tripod
I have been shooting exclusively from a tripod since 2021. Ive taken 2 mule deer prone (825 and 450 yards), 1 mule deer standing (250 yards) and 2 elk sitting (600 and 300 yards). I pack two tripods, a fluid head for my spotter/binos and a ball head for my rifle. I don't know if I ever will go...- Black Elk

Shot this bull in CO 1st season this year. I picked up a leftover tag and hunted my good buddies ranch. Opening morning, he stepped out at 300 yards and that was all she wrote. 265 gr ABLR did the job! -

Vortex Razor 13-39x56 Angled

How long did it take for your first elk?
