    Tragic. My buddy shot his first and only mature bull elk and the antlers got ripped off from his back porch in Bozeman. Hope the moose antlers can be found. Too much money in the antler trade these days.

    elk hunting record

    I feel like I've seen/heard/smelled and been around more elk this season than ever before. But I haven't had a shot. Weird. But to answer the question, I've had seasons where I didn't see any elk at all, and usually I try to hunt at least ten days.

    Funny how they say hunter recruitment is declining, yet we all see a lot more hunters in the field. Same thing with skiing. Supposedly skier numbers are declining, yet the ski resorts and the popular backcountry areas seem more crowded than ever. What gives?
