Is your mall crawler ready to go?

If you pull a trailer with any reasonable frequency with a half ton, Sumo Springs are beyond worth it. This setup is very tongue heavy and with gear in the bed, I would normally be looking at 3-4in of squat. With the sumo springs, less than half that. Plus zero porpoising or sway on the...

.54 is hanging like an ape

Get a musket nipple and caps. They are 2-3x hotter than 11s and are so much easier to put on and take off the nipple. I had an older TC New Englander and it would occasionally hang with 11s but never once with musket caps.

Coming from a Texan makes that comment top shelf.

    Weekend Libations

The Weller full proof got my attention. I just got the white bottle. The FP is the last one I need to round out the full lineup.

    What's on the smoker today?

Also try ice water. One part ice and one part water that has sat for a couple minutes and stirred right before you test the probe. Obviously should be right around 32-33

Didn’t know Hanwags could get any smaller or tighter.

A little humour for your day

And how they bill the S out of you or have housekeeping knock like they are serving you a warrant if you are still in your room at 10:05. Yet very often they don’t have your room ready at 3PM.

    Jeep Talk

You laugh but my wife’s 2019 is the berries when it comes to getting around town, parallel parking, garages, etc. The turning radius is def better than it should be. I have a quad cab long(er) bed Silverado with a 2in lift and there are many parking garages I can’t get into. And the turning...

    Jeep Talk

You liked the Corsa over the Borla kit? What was your deciding factor? I love their axle back kit. The wife didn’t (her jeep) 😂.

    DB Encounters - share here

Hunted Wyoming Region G a few years back. Hiked several miles back on public in a roadless area. Got back well before day light. About 5 minutes before shooting light three different groups of residents came zooming in on UTVs and setup on top of a bunch of folks, including me. I confronted...

    Blood Meridian - I Don’t Get It….(Spoilers)

Quality post. Agree. I haven’t watched a single Tarantino film that I loved and with the exception of Pulp Fiction, I would have been ok if I hadn’t seen any of them. And it’s not the violence, I just find them to be dumb. The Dracula take is a good one. I’ll think on that some more...

    DIY velvet preservation

I’ve done it four times and four different ways. First time I had no ideas what I was doing and I rubbed the with salt and baking soda. Shockingly it worked well, but I’d never do it again. Second time I used velvet lok spray. Ehh. Wasn’t impressed and everything smelled like their...

    Need a movie…

It is excellent. I preferred it to Wolf of Wall Street.

    Blood Meridian - I Don’t Get It….(Spoilers)

After I finished reading BM, my wife saw me pondering rather pensively and asked me what was wrong. I said something to the extent of “I just finished this book and can’t process it. I wish I had Ken’s cell.” Somehow I knew you had read it and have perspective. I think I had built it up so...

    Blood Meridian - I Don’t Get It….(Spoilers)

So far I’ve read Child of God, The Border Trilogy, and now BM. I do agree that The Crossing was my favorite of the five. I’ve debating reading No Country for Old Men since I liked the movie so much. Yeah, the Kid knew he was bad, but he met evil and couldn’t escape it. In classic McCarthy...

    Need a movie…

Wind River Scicario Lincoln (2012) - disclaimer, need to be a bit of a Lincoln or Civil War fan to really get into it. Young Washington was very good but not on par with the first three.

    Blood Meridian - I Don’t Get It….(Spoilers)

Third time’s the charm. I finally finished Blood Meridian. After two failed attempts, I found myself on a beach with plenty of time and rum (probably should have read Hemmingway instead, by I degrees) so I picked up Blood Meridian and read it over the course of four days. I. Don’t. Get. It...
