Son’s first elk…..I was able to call him in from quite a distance away (about 1000 yards). He was looking for love in all the wrong places, I guess. 😉 -

Depending on the unit and elevation you’re at, Labor Day can/will still be hot. Find a good glassing location and sit there longer than you think you should. Let your eyes do most the walking. Like most hunts, the first hour in the morning and the last hour of light will be good for Coues... -

Real World Hunting Setup Velocity?
Nope. Too difficult to find the same selection(s) anymore (swagged, etc.). Just plain ol’ heavier carbons now…..just not the same weight as my old aluminums. My set up is right around 235-240 fps with these carbons. With that, I can’t remember the last animal I didn’t have a complete... -
Real World Hunting Setup Velocity?
I can’t count how many critters I’ve taken with a bow that shot a whopping 205fps with aluminum arrows back in the day. 280 a sweet spot? I’d say he’s relatively new to the game with that statement. 😉 JMO.
