Possibly. But even then, for how long? Five minutes? Or until the lion goes over the ridge and hunts the remaining deer on that side? How many deer does each lion kill per month? There is no wrong choice here. You can't go wrong no matter which of the three you pick. I have all three. For elk, though, I personally would reach for the 30.06 in case the big boy is out there a ways. And I'd use the 180 grain round to settle any doubts big boy might entertain about walking... -
