    Scope for a 22 mag

2-7 all day. I have one on my 22mag, and would have a hard time considering anything else. 1x is a CQB concept—not something you need for small game. A 4-12 is fun for targets and picking off pidgeons from 100yds, but 4x is probably already more than you want for coon calling.

    Sleeping Bags

Sierra Designs 35* quilt bag hybrid thing. It's an odd duck, but I keep reaching for it out of several other options so I guess I like it.

    7mm-08 load for Weatherby

Saying the 140g etips are no good in the 7mm-08 is just silly. Almost as silly as judging bullet performance by expansion and citing a tough-to-find animal as evidence that they're not good enough. Within normal hunting ranges, say ≤400y, the etips from typical 7/08 loads are going *plenty*...

    7mm-08 load for Weatherby

It sounds like you have a rifle that shoots ~1-1.5 MOA. Better to just accept that and go on having fun, rather than thinking you just haven't found the right load. Have you been able to repeat the ~1/2 MOA groups? Like Wind Gipsy pointed out, you *will* occasionally get tiny groups because of...

Talk me out of a Leupold SX-4 15-45x65

Well y'all talked me out of it. Or at least finding an Athlon Ares G2 15-45 for less than $500 talked me out of it, anyway 😅.

    Leupold CDS

Depends a lot on the distance. You can be wrong by double and never notice if you think it's 50y but it's actually 100y. But if you guess 400 and it's actually 450, you'll miss entirely or would the animal. Spend some time playing with ballistic calculators and keep and eye on the drop...

    Entry/Mid range Binoculars

Used from a brand with a bulletproof warranty. 100%. Wouldn't shock me to see a pair of BX-4 Pro guide 10x42s on ebay for $300. I think I paid $350 for mine. Insane quality for the money. Vortex obviously has the same quality of warranty and I've heard good things about Athlon as well.

Talk me out of a Leupold SX-4 15-45x65

Thanks. Yeah I love my BX-4 10x42s. One of my best friends has a pair of swaro 10x binos and sure, they're better, but like, not $2000 better 😂. Which is exactly why I've been looking at the SX-4.

Talk me out of a Leupold SX-4 15-45x65

Are there any high-power binos in this price range worth considering? I'm not opposed to the idea but I'm not immediately familiar with decent options. Thanks all for the suggestions and thoughts. Keep 'em comin'!

Talk me out of a Leupold SX-4 15-45x65

I've been saving up for a Leupold SX-4 15-45x65 spotter, and now it's time for my typical "talk me out of it" process before I drop $$$ on something I'll hopefully pass down to my kids. I've been using a 13-33x50 Nikon ED Field scope for the past 6 years or so; it was my first spotter. I...

How do you store reloaded ammo

I've also had issues with "welding" to the case, although no one has been able to explain it to me (including some very smart and educated engineers familiar with metallurgy). Anyway, I was able to solve the problem by adding a swipe of graphite to the inside of the neck before seating. Works...
