Ruger Bolt Cracked!
I have a gen 1 in .308. Was incredibly difficult to close the bolt on a round. Sent it back. They decided to destroy that rifle and issue a different one. I haven’t heard much on bad QC, but it seems there are some stories here and there. -
A little humour for your day
A few points: Day drinking was socially acceptable, if not outright accepted. Drinking age laws were lower and usually ignored. Alcoholism was fairly rampant. A lot of the vets from that era had “hunting accidents”. I’d rather go to war than deal with some of my exes. -
Catch All Fishing Thread
Elk hunt didn’t pan out as hoped, but the consolation prize was fighting 30mph winds to fish a new river. Two hours, 10 fish on dries- even a couple whiteys. Big fish was a brown I initially thought was 20”- photos make me think it was closer to 17”. Was cold enough my fingers went numb, and I...- R.K.

What are your 2026 Outdoor Plans
Headed to elk camp. Stopped for fuel, have a bit yet until I (hopefully) roll into elk camp. 5 days of sleeping on the ground (forgot the cot), but hopefully less. Didn’t even bring a grouse arrow or shotgun. Singular focus this time around.- R.K.

I’m all for mandatory harvest reporting. Been saying it is the only way to get appropriate data for a while. I’m just unfamiliar with how best to enact that change. Ballot initiative? Wildlife commission? Send a bottle of wine and a card to GG? -

A Real Sport
Watching is fun and all, but… Playing is better. We beat Bozeman yesterday. I ended up with 3 assists, forced 2 turnovers, no missed tackles and no dropped passes/receptions. Worst thing I came away with was a sunburn. Damn good day. Next weekend is elk hunting.- R.K.
