    2026 Garden

Bugs ate my potato leaves and killed most of the plants, ants and grubs did More damage under the ground. Will do another potato harvest next week and with any luck I’ll still have 2 survivor plants for another time. First cucumbers picked today. Small tomatoes have been trickling in for about...

The Great HT 2026 weigh in.

Still keeping up diet of <10% calories from bread, sugar or seed oils. I eat home garden produce, fish, wild game, fruit, lots of nuts and dairy, and occasional baked potato or sweet corn. I eat a lot and eat all day. Negligible alcohol. Sitting tight at 167/168 for a couple months now. Feel great.

    Elk bullet in Grizzly country

I have no practice using a bolt action rifle as a personal defense weapon, so it’s basically useless to me anyways. I’m not shooting a bear if it bluff charges or rears up either. At the end of the day your decision on what elk load to use will have about 0.01% relevance to bear safety.

    Shoot farther!

What am I missing? I read through their website and found nothing about them suggesting to shoot at animals at extreme ranges.

    Group 1 passengers

Take a seat within sight of the check in. Wait until “final boarding call”. Get in the plane. When the flight attendant comes by, say you can’t find a spot for your carry on and they’ll find a spot for it for you. When you get off the plane stand up when the people in front of you start moving...

    Archery Equipment Advice

Your time schedule is too short. My first advice is to skip the hunt. Or OTC rifle. If you are dead set on going, don’t waste time on getting your set-up working. You don’t have time to burn if you’re going to get as much practice in as possible. Any of a couple dozen things could go wrong, and...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

DC? No. ATH, political volatility, AI colonization, a hunch. Crash could be too strong a word. Maybe major correction. The US could end up with the one ring to rule them all w/ a tech giant ushering in market domination super-intelligence AI sending markets into the stratosphere - and I’d miss...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Right around 10-10.5% - In hindsight would have make more not diversifying. Today I made 1/2 the trades in the hour the market opened capturing about another 1.1-1.2%. The mutual funds making up the remaining 1/2 and they settle at the end of trading today.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Watching the market very closely today. As of Friday the complete overhaul of my portfolio on 1/26 and 1/28 is up around 6.9-7.1%. I have a plan to sell the entire portfolio again and move to bonds, treasury, and large cap income, then hold that until the next crash/correction. With a little...

    6.5 Creedmoor +Peak Poll

Lowest tier Savage 6.5 + 143 eld-x was sub MOA, first factory ammo I tested. It is easy to overcomplicate. Some really enjoy the tiny adjustments of handholding - I’ll never understand why, but whatever floats your boat.

As our taxpayer reserve funds dry up, now accelerated by the 2Bn dollar 3-strikes law, there will be immense pressure to eliminate IWILL when our inevitable sales tax increase arrives.

I also use this instruction prompt to strip away Gemini’s human-like tone, and give brutally critical answers. It sometimes begins to revert to the default algorithm, but you can command it to follow the initial instructions and it will revise its latest response in the thread: ADOPT THE...

AI tips, tricks, faults, and failures

Failures of free Gemini: -confidently states as fact if 51% or more of the information available. -sycophantic to the point of fueling delusions about user ideas -Reinforces original response even if it is dead wrong. The more it repeats itself, the more confident it is (stubborn...
