    Being a lifelong boater primarily on the Mississippi River the last thing I do is trust another boater to stay their course. Throw in the amount of new boaters and renters with very little training or thought other than will 20lb of ice keep our beer cold all day and you have a recipe for disaster.

    we have two seasonals starting tomorrow. Their duties will be mowing, trail clearing, grounds duties. If they can start a stihl chainsaw on day 1 I will be amazed, let alone sharpen, change the chain when needed and operate. Don’t even get me started on backing a trailer.

    How much does a license to operate in a Wilderness area cost an outfitter? Maybe if they can show they have cleared X amount of trail this year the fee can be waived? Cleared trails affects them more than it does most other people, they should have more skin in the game than most people.
