Back to the high 70s and low 80s for the foreseeable future so I went ahead and put my first planting of squash, zucchini, and beans. Trying a few different varieties this year and also trying to do better with succession planting for more stable yield numbers. Water bill is not going to be fun...
Potatoes coming up now. Strawberries took to the transplant well. Peach tree looks good. Persimmon is dead. No idea why. We did have some extremely cold weather for our area so thats a possibility. Ill wait til dormant season and try again with another one.
For sure. I bought it with 115k on it and it was a great car. The car before it was a Camry I bought with 115k and was still running good at 280k when I sold it. Would've loved to push 300k in this thing.
Well, end of an era. My wife was rear-ended this morning on her way to work. Thankfully okay and the other person was insured. Subaru will be totaled though. 500 miles away from crossing 200k.
25 tonight they say. Ill cover the peach tree but the rest of the garden should be okay. Hopefully this is the last hard freeze but we are still a month from traditional last frost date.
Had an old shovel head laying around and plenty of 1" pipe so I decided to combine them. Also broke in the spool gun today. I'll clean it up nice with a wire brush and some brake cleaner but for now this'll work.
Got the diff and t case fluids changed on the tundra today. Front diff made a little bit of a mess. Harbor freight pump did well. Discovered I need a carrier bearing as well. Ill probably swap that whenever I get around to doing the transmission fluid change.
After a brief entertainment of putting watermelon in the old pond spot, I finally settled on the original idea of strawberries. Picked up 3 transplants from the garden supply today.
Yeah I've got a few projects in mind to break it in with so hopefully I'll be able to give a good report on it. We didnt do much al work in the company I was with and no spool gun work so I'll have to get used to it.
SC only gained so many because NC is full and overflowing. Their terrible roads have kept them free of transplants for many years but now Charlotte has no more room so they get to deal with it.
85 today and tomorrow. Low of 29 Thursday, possibly down to 24 next week. Peach tree is in full bloom and the persimmon tree may not have survived the winter. Lettuce I planted from seed is starting to sprout. Pond is filled in and ready for strawberry plants. I may audible and put watermelons...
Potatoes are in. 24 total planted, a mix of russet and Yukon gold. Also cleaned up and spread pine straw around the beds. And demo'd the pond that we've never really liked since we moved in here. I think strawberries are going to go there.
Oh I believe it. If I had a place out in the country I would have a true shop built (if I had the money). Gotta live within the reality you have though.
Yeah its on the list. 20x20 metal building with a 9ft lean-to on the side. Poured floor with a roll up garage door. I started and stopped this project 3 different times due to rain.
Finally got the pans in so I could make these carts. Pretty happy with how they turned out. I was a little off on my labor estimate but now that I have the as-built cut sheet I could get a lot closer to my estimate if I ever build more.
The viability of smaller calibers on big game has been pretty well hashed out at this point. I cant imagine there's too many forum frequenters left who haven't formulated their opinion even in light of the rokslide threads. My favorite rifle to carry deer hunting is my Ruger Ranch 5.56 and it...
Needed to get some reinforcements on my pipe rack so I started it yesterday but couldn't finish. Crazy wind today so I had to break out the stick welder. Got it finished though.
