    Safe Cleanout

Right, but the key here is using friends and family for both. No buyer protection, but perfectly legit methods of electronic funds transfer. I've had a guy pay me with USPS money order - a little slower but works also. If you want firearms-related buyer and seller protection, I think the only...

    Safe Cleanout

Paypal is absolutely a no-go for firearms related transactions. Read their rules. A seller has ZERO protection against a shifty buyer if a 2A item is sold with goods and services; PayPal will simply refund the money and ban the seller's account for selling gun-related items. Buyer will get the...

What's your rule of thumb for changing COAL?

If going from 2.73 to 2.8 inches, I'd start at book max. But I live life on the spicy side. Safe answer is to drop one grain from max and work your way up in hot weather. Edit - I would also not be doing this without knowing where the lands are. If you are pushing the bullet into the lands then...

Hornady describes difference between ELD-X and ELD Match

There's been some reports that the 180's don't behave consistently like other ELDMs. And also that newer stock ELDMs aren't as consistent as those from one year+ ago. Safest bet is to go with the new heavy TMKs. Waiting on the 7mm 185’s myself.

Experience with Yamaha RMAX side by side?

Inferno maybe? But I wouldn't blame the heater necessarily. This issue is that soft cabs just don't seal well. Any good hard cab enclosure with doors cuts the wind out almost completely. Also, aftermarket heaters really only hit the front seats. I wasted a whole bunch of money buying the wrong...

Experience with Yamaha RMAX side by side?

I had an X4 as well that I loved, but the lack of enclosure made it a no-go for cold hunts with the kiddos. Soft sides + aftermarket heater barely took the edge off. With the RMAX, doors are available which would help, but after going through the pain and $$$(!) you're better off just buying...

    Youth elk rifle?

My Tikka 243 and 22 Creed rained hell on elk this year in NM. Last year it was 6.5 creed doing the same thing. Other than barrel life, I see no reason to go above 243. 223 has virtually infinite barrel life and with the right bullet it only give up a couple hundred yards to the creed version...

    US and Israel attack Iran

Let's not get crazy here - there are some very powerful and rich people that could be held accountable. Much safer to send our young men and women off to die in lieu of effective diplomacy. I hear alien files are coming, so please ignore all the negative press.

    NM Barbary Sheep

My ewe was amazing meat. Ate just like hamburger with a little beef suet mixed in. Haven't tried my ram yet but it wasn't as "rutty" as they can get so I have no doubt it will be delicious as well. I generally field dress quickly and get the meat cooled ASAP, so I can see how some people's...

    Help me build a rifle

I disagree with carbon. Weights are about the same and they hold heat more. Carbon six orders are about one year out. I have a couple proof and a carbon six barrels on tikkas and will go exclusively back to slim profile steel in the future. Just as light and much cheaper.

    Help me build a rifle

anything with a standard bolt face. I recommend a 6.5 creed or 1:8 twist 243 since those barrels will sell for about $100. Preferred barrel blanks for a 25 Creed prefit.

    Help me build a rifle

Do you just want to shoot out past 1,000 yds, or are you wanting something lethal on big game out to 1,000 yds? No reason to swap any barrels IMO. My 18" Tikka 6.5 Creed is lethal out to 800 yds at my altitude with reloads. Factory ammo is definitely enough to shoot out to 1,000 yds. This is...

Tikka shooters- Mount the scope to the factory dovetail, or add a picatinny rail?

Did they test that as the solution? I lost that thread but they were even talking about a new design with a different mounting mechanism.

Tikka shooters- Mount the scope to the factory dovetail, or add a picatinny rail?

Also, not sure they have fixed it, but despite the bulk Unknown Munitions has stated their rings are only appropriate for 7PRC and lower cartridges. Apparently their recoil pins were bending with 30 cal magnums. Surprising to hear for me as I have several pair and they seem rock solid. Given...
