    The loss of my father

My Dad died a week ago. He was my favorite hunting and fishing partner, life is never going to be the same. It was fun the way our roles had changed. When I was young he taught me about the outdoors, through the middle we were partners and in the end I took him when it became difficult for him...

    Boat Buying Season?

Just remember I guaranteed you a smoother ride with this boat, numbers of walleyes caught is still dependent upon your skills as a guide

I'd highly recommend going with a guide . It gets awfully expensive baiting yourself

2025 - A Season to Remember (or forget)

I know filling a tag isn't the only goal of hunts but it can get discouraging when things don't go your way. You just need to shake it off and start planning next seasons hunts. I think an antelope hunt next year would make everything look a lot better😊. Your decision to not shoot another bull...

Ruffed Grouse Strutting This Time Of Year?

I believe you're right about the photoperiod being the same length as breeding season. I see lots of roosters strutting in the fall and there are always 1-5 hens around watching. I've learned to look for the hens before shooting the rooster because he won't pay any attention to me

    The Fishin’ Was Too Good

I had a similar experience years ago except I didn't find the extra fish for 2 weeks. It took 3 fishing trips never shutting off the live well to get rid of the smell

    Rainy Lake in early July?

For walleyes I'd fish mid lake reefs in 20-30 feet. Use your electronics to find the fish and use live bait rigs with minnows, leeches or crawlers to catch them.

    Northeast Minnesota Grouse Camp '24

I believe the hatch will be poor but there were good numbers of adult birds. If you hunt hard you can always find enough birds to have a good hunt
