It seems completely counter intuitive, but going from a diesel truck to a gas truck would solve my weight problems. Take 1,000lbs off the GVWR of the pickup and add that to the GVWR of the trailer and I'm good. Of course the diesel truck is going to pull way better and be safer but lets not...- npaden

Tubes off grinder or vacuum sealer for ground meat?
This. We squash them down with a cutting board after filling and sealing and they stack nice and flat in the freezer. We package them in 2 pound sizes in 8”x11” bags.- npaden

Hadn't really checked into it. I have a 55hp tractor, looks like it is just on the low side of what one of those wants. I would get a little nervous running my tractor around on some of that stuff in Colorado, I may be expecting too much out of an excavator on that but I've seen some moving up...- npaden

Yeah, I struggle to make the math work, but I really want to buy one. LOL. The biggest and really the only benefit to buying one would be to have it available when I want it, even if that is only for a day. Once I'm retired I do think I could more likely make the math work, but for sure...- npaden

Just reading back through all this and in July 2023 I got a quote of $67,250 for a TB250 with a cab, angle blade, bucket and thumb from the local place. That has gone up to $77k now for a slightly smaller machine. That's a 14.5% increase in price in 3 years. Pretty sure that was a cash price...- npaden

Actually got a couple quotes on some machines. Takeuchi TB240 with a cab, angle blade, bucket, thumb and manual quick connect. Local place quoted $77k for a 2025 with 9 hours and a place in Colorado quoted $71k for the same machine except it is a 2024 with 2 hours on it. They would deliver it...- npaden

My son has had terrible luck in Alaska. I've had great luck, but not enough to overcome his bad luck. 6th straight time applying for SE Alaska Bear as a party with him without drawing. What is the wait time going to be for suppressor approval starting 1/1/2026?
I picked mine up yesterday and they are nice. Will get them setup this weekend maybe and get some rounds through them. Have 2 brand new guns to put them on so will just do the break in and sighting them in with the suppressors on. Not sure either gun will ever get shot without one on. -

Just got mine approved today. They were both trusts. 25 Calendar days after they were actually submitted. 6 of those days were weekends and 1 holiday so not really that bad. -

Thanks. I’ve actually watched a few YouTube videos with your mulching attachments. They seem to be priced competitively and a little lighter than some of the other brands. Your comments about the smaller excavator make me feel better about not being too short if I end up with a 4 ton machine...- npaden

Looks like I'm below the curve. I'm assuming they are talking calendar days and not business days. I'm at 21 calendar days since the form was officially submitted for my Form 4 Trust. Was hoping to get it this week but looking iffy unless it comes through pretty soon. -

One surprising thing for me is that it does pretty good even in “standby” mode. For $5 a month you can use it for email, surfing websites (a little slower than usual but not terrible) and other things that don’t require much bandwidth. Just no high definition video.
